» Gaddafi killed as Libya’s revolt claims hometown

“Oh, Gaddafi, how do you want this to end? Either you or us [survive]” — graffiti in Tripoli foretelloing Gadaffi’s end. Image: Al Jazeera English

How he stayed in power: divide-and-rule, big payoffs, and the threat of force

Muammar Gaddafi stayed in power for four decades in part because of his adept manipulation of tribes, centres of power in a conservative, sparsely populated desert country… he used economic privileges, marital alliances and the threat of force to build ties to tribes commanding varying degrees of loyalty (among the population). » Reuters
Sounds like what Malaysian leaders have done, too

Thoughts of the colonel

• There is no state with a democracy except Libya on the whole planet.
Gaddafi at a conference at Columbia University, New York, March 23, 2008.

• Libya is an African country. May Allah help the Arabs and keep them away from us. We don’t want anything to do with them. They did not fight with us against the Italians, and they did not fight with us against the Americans. They did not lift the sanctions and siege from us. On the contrary, they gloated at us, and benefited from our hardship…
Interview with Al Jazeera, March 27, 2007

• There is a conspiracy to control Libyan oil and to control Libyan land, to colonise Libya once again. This is impossible, impossible. We will fight until the last man and last woman to defend Libya from east to west, north to south.
Gaddafi in a message broadcast on August 25, as oppostion forces began as assault on Tripoli.

This is a chilling message to putative dictators and dictator wannabes in Malaysia. Don’t try it at home. You will end up in a rat hole, like Ghadafi.

The grand son of the pariah from Kerala, the shenanigan Mahathir knew if he did not resign as P.M. he too would have ended up hiding like a snake in a hole just like the muslim dictators in the Middle East and the Northern African countries.
He thought he was able to continue committing the atrocities as a civilian thus preventing the punitive of being indicted in the Criminal Court although he is still trying to do so.
Sad to say his dream of a crooked bridge he started linking Johore and Singapore was stillborn and was cancelled by AAB, the successor of his own choice.
Like all his numerous deputies, he ended up dismissing them he is now trying to deny the many atrocities he committed during his tenure as P.M. but it is never too late for him and his children shot or indicted. No doubt just like these dictators and his children they too had a handful of cronies as supporters did put up some resistance for fear of their lives but at the end they too were either shot or indicted.

will Libya be a better place? or just another Iraq and Mesir? Libya enjoyed free healthcare and education, we’ll see after this.

Viewing the death videos, I strongly believe that the very people who were lamenting injustice has taken the laws to their hands. If Ghadafi was ‘tried’ and executed, so should the people who tried and executed him on the street.

    Whadya think?
