Tukar Tiub, the online persona of 1970s UMSU student leader and still ever irascible Hishammuddin Rais, is saying a political farewell to a couple of controversial Barisan Nasional politicians:

  • Zambry Abdul Kadir, the court-ordered and royally-installed menteri besar of the Occupied Territory of Perak. Zambry became menteri besar when Barisan Nasional engineered the defections of three assembly members. The sultan of Perak dismissed the sitting menteri besar Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin in a legally doubtful and constitutionally controversial decision. This was overturned in the High Court then reaffirmed in another controversial decision by the Court of Appeal.
  • Sharizat Abdul Jalil, head of Wanita Umno and women’s affairs minister whose family has been the butt of jokes about cows and condominiums and political anger over possible corruption because of their involvement in the National Feedlot Corporation. Sharizat was appointed as senator after being swept out in the 2008 election where she was seeking re-election as MP for Pantai (the seat is now held by Nurul Izzah Anwar of Parti Keadilan Rakyat).
