The official web site for neo-soul songstress Erykah Badu has been blanked out or has been unreachable from Malaysia since late last night (Tuesday), after the Malaysian government banned her concert in KL scheduled for tonight.

The web site displays the controversial photograph of Erykah Badu with the tattoo-like body art that includes Arabic calligraphy for the word Allah, displayed on the upper chest.

Her concert was banned after the same publicity photograph was published in the Star on Monday. Editors of the Star were called to the home ministry and the paper has been given seven days to provide a written explanation under threat of suspension or revocation of its publishing licence.

Can still get in to the official web site via a proxy-server; THAT photo is still there complete with the complete tattoos.

    http://turbohide.com/, Sir!

Tried at about 1:30pm today (29 Feb 2012), and it got through.

    BUT…

I just tried again before posting this reply, and at about 12:10am (1 Mar 2012), and my browser displayed that “SOON!” page also.
