Saifuddin, Khairy talk cock about apology for lowering Najib flag

UPDATE
No apology say students
The move to lower the flag is symbolic of the youth’s loss of faith because the concept of transformation had “failed to convince the people”, citing several flip-flops in policies including the Internal Security Act arrests shortly after promises to abolish the law. — Ahmad Syukri Abdul Razab. » MalaysiaKini
Talks on law continue, Saifuddin redefines democracy
The incident has not disturbed the government’s commitment to amend the UUCA, Saifuddin told Malaysian Insider. He said he believed in “undergraduate idealism” and supported their right to freedom of expression in a democracy, adding that “the flag-lowering incident is not a part of the democracy that is meant”.

Umno bootlickers have no right to demand
that students apologise for political dissent

If Saifuddin Abdullah and Khairy Jamaluddin had any respect for Umno president Najib Tun Razak, they should stop talking cock in demanding an apology from university students who lowered a flag bearing Najib’s image at Umno headquarters on Saturday.

The students’ action in lowering the Najib flag was a clear act of political dissent, an act of free speech. Political speech is part and parcel of democracy.

And Najib Tun Razak says he wishes to turn Malaysia into a world-class democracy. If so, Malaysia must protect free speech, especially political speech, and political leaders such as Saifuddin and Khairy should respect political speech, even if they disagree with it.

They should not ask citizens to behave like serfs before their masters.

Saifuddin and Khairy are both intelligent and highly educated men, one a product of the elite MCKK and University of Malaya, the other a product of the elitist Oxford. And yet:

“The act of lowering Najib’s portrait is despicable, you must apologise!” said Saifuddin on Twitter.

Rubbish. There is no need for the students to apologise.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has also condemned the stunt and demanded an apology to Najib and Umno. “Let us not taint or belittle our efforts with actions that does not reflect maturity,” he said (according to MalaysiaKini).

Rubbish. There is no need for the students to apologise.

By demanding an apology, the two Umno men are showing disrespect towards Najib’s wish for a world-class democracy.

Instead they want students to behave like Umno politicians, like serfs before masters. If Saifuddin and Khairy wish to continue that demeaning Umno tradition, they are free to do so.

But they have no right to demand that university students, or any other Malaysian citizen, should also behave like boot-licking Umno politicians.

Umno members are free to carry on being bootlickers. But Malaysians should have more pride than that.

  1. Najib may have said that he is going to turn Malaysia to have the best democracy in the world but he forgot to tell you who long it will take him to do so or when he intends to do that.
As usual he is playing with words just like all his promises since becoming the P.M.. A good example was his promise that all top students will be given scholarships to further their study, but he only sent the Malay students abroad while the others were sent to local near empty varsities, of high school standards, for their further studies. They were proof of the standard of the Malaysian varsities that are not even good enough for the NEM (Never Enough Money) Malay students to go to for their further studies.
Yet after so many decades, not years, plus so many of these so called top students after having being sent abroad to further their studies, Malaysia is still so critically short of skilled and professionals that Talent Corp. is formed ( when for some years now Malaysia was known to have pleaded for the ex Malaysian immigrated professionals to return to serve with no success ) and going round the world to plea with the real skilled and professional ex-Malaysians who are mainly non Malays sad to say to return to serve the country or better still to serve under the half cooked.
There should be, if the total number of these NEM top students are added up, there should be a surplus of skilled and professionals in the country. Why ? What has happened to all the top NEM students all these decades ?
Why can’t for once Malaysia faces the truth and shame the devils ?
This is the kind of promise Najib is making and just because he thinks he is able to fool he idiots in the rural areas or the civil servants he can’t keep fooling the millions of other Malaysia any further.

  2. S.A and K.J just want to become members of the next cabinet if and when it is formed and that is why they are doing and saying things that were done and said by them.
Also why is KJ not waving the keris any more ? Or he now knows that waving the kris is not getting him into the cabinet even as chief o the Umno youth. The truth is the P.M. is not his father-in-law and he is now in residing in Penang and in case he does not know where Penang is just ask his wife.
